Lindora Online & Lindora Medical Clinics Review
Lindora Online has been a regional weight loss center located in Southern California, but with the advent of the Internet, has expanded worldwide and is now one of the more fashionable choices for those seeking weight loss solutions. Unlike competitors NutriSystem and Jenny Craig, Lindora takes a different approach to helping their clients lose weight. There is no pre-packaged food to buy and no processed food to choke down. Instead, Lindora uses counseling on a daily basis to teach and inspire their clients on how to eat properly and how to have confidence in yourself that you can accomplish your weight loss goals.
For those that are exploring Lindora, you are presented with a series of options to start with. If you live in Southern California and you can attend in-person meetings with their health professionals, than you can choose a program based on that. If you don’t, you can choose the online program which contains essentially the same material, just presented over the web. A third option is to buy a one-time weight loss package that contains many of the principles of Lindora, but without any continuing support. The price for these packages is significantly less than what you find with companies like NutriSystem because there is no food to buy. You simply keep a food diary online and track the calories you take in, all the while receiving advice on how you can improve your health with diet and exercise.
Since the online version of the program is the most commonly used, let’s take a look at the pros and cons. Every client is encouraged to log onto the Lindora website at least once per day to receive any messages and news that are pertinent to that day’s goals. Ideally, clients are encouraged to log on several times a day to keep track of the calories they take in and to participate in the Lindora community via message boards populated by Lindora employees and dieticians, as well as other people who are going through the Lindora system at the same time.
You’ll also be asked to read one chapter per day from the book Lean For Life which is, essentially, the basic teachings of Lindora. The book expounds on how weight loss and good bodily health isn’t something you do just while you’re on a diet, but all the time and how eating right and staying in shape doesn’t have to be a chore.
So, does this hands-off, no pre-made food program really work? It depends on your level of self control. If you buy into the weight loss program espoused in the Lean For Life book, as well as the feel-good dogma, then, yes, the program can work wonderfully. But it doesn’t really take human nature into account. People enjoy eating things that are bad for you, and while education is the key to keeping weight off for good, not having a hands-on approach and a person you can talk to face to face does serious damage to the viability of the Lindora system. If you feel that you can fight off your urges, Lindora might be for you, if not, stick to a program that offers more real world motivation.
